About the town

The real Andalusia

Almuñécar lies on the subtropical stretch of coast between Málaga and Granada, in the province of Granada — known for the old San Miguel fortress and a relaxed pace, even in high season.

The castle and the old town

The San Miguel castle towers over the town, and below it whitewashed streets wind down towards the promenade. Roman traces, a cave with seven palaces and a coast that changes from cove to cove are all within walking distance.
